Our strong, easy-fit plastic wall fittings will have your existing blind in fully working order quickly, saving you money by providing an alternative to full blind replacement costs. Our plastic chain and fittings wipe clean, so easily kept clear of dust and cobwebs that can gather in corners, making it an essential blind accessory in the event of any overzealous adjusting.

Poor Roller Blind Mechanism

The product is just what I have been looking for but on operation it is poor. When closing the blind the control wheel moves and makes it impossible to operate properly, I have to use the other hand to move the control wheel back into line with the hanging of the plastic chain to operate properly. Still able to work blinds but I have to go through this procedure. Not good, would not recommend.

The plastic fittings are not strong enough to hold the weight of the blind, I have already replaced them twice, now looking to another manufacturer. I'm surprised you are still selling them!

This side winder is only suitable for blinds up to 12cm wide the mechanism is not strong enough to open larger blinds. The pull cord comes out of the sprocket.
I purchased and fitted new brachets and side winder from another source and the blind works perfectly.

Dunelm need to supply a sturdier side winder mechanism with their blinds even at an increased cost.

Great if your blind lives on the floor!

This is the 2nd one we have had. Got the original with the blind and the blind if mainly for deocoration as my son likes it lighter but when visitors stay it gets put down. On the 2nd Use it snapped and the blind fell of the wall. The 2nd one didnt didnt even get used and snapped and again fell off the wall. The plastic at the screw holes is too flimsy and cannot withstand the weight it has to hold up let alone if it gets used. Disappointed as the old metal ones were superior to this

I bought 5 blinds from Dunelm Mill, so far two of the blinds have fallen down due to the mechanism snapping, so not very happy that I am having to buy new mechanism's and now waiting for the next blind to fall down!

I have replaced several of these now as they keep breaking so I have followed the above advice and bought metal brackets which mean I can use the fab blinds again!

i have purchased four roller blinds from dunelm and these fitting and all four blinds have fallen down every time i open the blinds including these flimsy fittings, leaving bigger holes in the walls where fittings were. The roller blinds are very cheap but in the long run your better off spending the extra few pounds to save you the hassle these cause.

I am surprised that a shop with the rputation of dunelm stocks such a poor quality product. Do they not test products before selling them on? an appauling product, weak flimsy and not fit for purpose.

I have had 3 of these fittings now, first one which was supplied with the blind then two replacements. All have broken although this last one did last longer than the others. Not happy.

the mechanism very cheap the plastic ball lead alway came from the attachment and was impossible to put back so have bought 3 already now costing more than the blind so frustrating

Purchase made to replace broken fittings

This item was bought to replace a broken fitting on a blind purchased in October/November. Since then the fitting on another blind purchased at the same time has broken. Fortunately no damage has been done when the blinds fell.
I hope these fittings last longer than the originals.
As I live approx. 25 miles from my nearest store I decided to replace the fittings rather than go to the store.
I have over the past year made many purchases from your Gloucester store, including made to measure curtains all of which I have been more than satisfied with. My only problem has been the blind fixings.

Roller blind control wheel problem

I had no trouble fitting the product and the blind iteself is just what we needed. The problem is that although the blind is neatly located as per instructions between the brackets with the chain cover upermost, the control mechanism has locked and will not budge. I have now removed the control wheel and am still unable to free the wheel. I now need to purchse a replacement control wheel to get the blind to operate.

Lets face it most windows are high so the plastic chain should be longer. after installing I had to reach up to pull the chain and could only make a six inch pull so many pulls were needed, plus because of the struggle it was not possible to make a successful downwards movement resulting in chain getting snagged, after managing to get the chain back into its housing the the mechanical section that slots into the holding brackets octaganal housing now turns rendering the unit useless and that was after four days of unsatisfactory use, this product needs to be addressed

This blind open/close mechanisn is much stronger than the plastic effort that comes with the blinds as the blind supports have metal inside. The only downside is that the blind cord isnt very long.

I am a woman who has always been able to put blinds up on my own, no help needed from a man. The fitting on this one are spring loaded and were so hard for me to do. That I had to order the old type on line from a differend company. Took me 15min to put the blind up. After struggling for hours with the spring loaded "new type"
