My daughter suffers from eczema and is a very hot child so I needed something to keep her body temp more regulated - I was thinking of going back to good old fashioned cotton blankets but in search of a simple answer I found Dunelms did a natural wool duvet - perfect - she is now so snug and loves it!! no extra blanket needed to keep her warm and this time I got a double so I tuck one side under the single mattress and it never moves out of place. I reckon she will have this duvet for many yrs to come. I also bought the zip up duvet protector to prolong its life and the mattress protector (the natural wool one too). I undersand it will keep her cool in the summer but will be so pleased if this is so. I am a very happy customer, thank you !!!

I bought this duvet last month and when I got it home I was horrified to see how thin it was, I thought no way is that gonna keep me warm in temperatures below zero in rural East Yorkshire!
How wrong was I.. This duvet is fantastic and keeps both me and my partner at an ambient temperature all night, the duvet is thin but heavy so stops any drafts.
Best buy ever for me, wish I had found this long ago and not wasted money on other products claiming to be 4 season!

Next day collection from Internet ordering good although had to travel to Dartford, not my local store of Shoreham. Duvet offers a different feel lays on the bed more like a blanket only without the weight doesn't fall round your body like a feather duvet as there seems less air.

I was recommended the wool duvet by my son and his wife. I had to trawl the website to find a store with a king size in stock and ended up with an extra 65 mile round trip to get one - it is that good and much cheaper than other retailers and on-line sellers.
Not much point in writing this review though if Dunelm is dropping this line, as is apparent by its lack of availabilty

I don't know why several people have said this is a poor product. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. It isnt difficult to put a duvet cover on it(no different from any other duvet)Keeps me at a cosy temperature all through summer and winter. Doewsn't slip off the bed like others are saying. I am diabetic and have other health problems and have found this to be an excellent product. I can't use duck feather and I hate hollowfibre so this is perfect for me. I also have wool pillows to match. If you are unsure about purchasing a wool duvet, don't be.

I wanted this duvet to work out so much, I really bought into the marketing about it being self regulating and proven to give a good night's rest. I'm a great believer in natural fibres and strongly dislike man-made fibres for clothing and anything close to the body. So when I saw a wool-filled duvet I thought I'd found the holy grail and wondered why I'd never seen one before.
Both my other half and I are hot types and I was fed up of waking sweating in the night even with a thin hollow fibre duvet in winter. So yeah, I did wonder whether a wool duvet would be too hot, I mean it's wool, that's really warm right? But it talked about being breathable and self-regulating and proudly stated that it doesn't have a tog rating because it adapts to your temperature. That bit didn't really make sense to me, I mean a given item will have a certain insulating effect and that's what a tog rating is about isn't it, but by this point I was a believer and wanted this wondrous magical thing that would be the answer to my prayers.
Well it's a good quality duvet. It's pretty heavy, like you'd find with a winter down duvet. It's also very crinkly, although that must be the cover rather than the filling I think. And it's lovely and cosy and warm.
But it's still too hot, and I was still sweating in the night. And this is January, I can't imagine how awful it'd be in summer. So unfortunately, whilst it's a good quality item, it doesn't deliver on its promises, it doesn't do what it sets itself apart from the competition by claiming, it doesn't adapt, it doesn't self-regulate, it's simply a heavy-weight duvet that provides a high level of insulation. And if that's what you're after then you won't be disappointed. BUT IT SHOULD HAVE A TOG RATING!!! If it did then I wouldn't have bought it because it would be rated too high for me. And because you can't return bedding, I've wasted a good chunk of cash.

After working our way through a feather goose down duvet and a hotel quality polyester duvet I needed to buy another hopefully one that would suit both my hubby and I. I too suffer night sweats due to both my age and diabetes and wanted something that would not keep me too warm. As I was checking out all the various duvets I decided to give the wool one a try after seeing a documentary on how they were made etc. plus it was a quarter of the price of the feather one so if I didn't like it I wasn't losing much. I bought it with the pillows as well. When I got it home I wondered what on earth I had done. This thing was so thin it wouldn't keep anything warm. How wrong can you be it is amazing it kept me warm but not hot all night and the wool pillow also helped to keep me cool. I will never ever buy any other quilt in future. It does not pin you to the bed as other quilts do, nor do you have the feathers sticking in you, nor does it need shaking to within an inch of its life. A brilliant product thank you.

I think the product information was misleading as
my husband and I find this duvet very hot in the
winter. I bought it because I sweat in the night
through diabetes, and this duvet has not helped my
condition. Also we find it very heavy and it is
difficult to put in a cover.

Decided to buy this wool duvet as my husband wakes up drenched in sweat every morning. Best night's sleep we've had in years, no waking in the middle of the night to adjust the duvet and no soaking wet duvet & pillow in the morning.

I have used the duvet for one week. So far so good, but I can't comment on it's long-term use. It's proven very comfortable for cool autumn nights. As others have mentioned, this wool duvet is thinner and denser than some down or synthetic duvets. One advantage of this is that it doesn't tend to slide off the bed. I bought wool because it is supposed to be comfortable under a range of temperatures and out of concern for animal welfare (i.e. I wouldn't buy down).

Although I am on State Pension, I took the plunge and purchased this in January 2010. And it's the best thing I've ever bought because I've used this through all seasons and no longer need to store a selection of different tog-rated duvets and keep changing them as the seasons change!
It's also easy to wash and dried surprisingly quickly! And there is definitely no need to shake it, unlike most duvets: just pull it back into place on the bed and you're done! I absolutely love it and wil never go back to a feather and down or polyester holofibre duvet again.
