The tool does the job well however it is possible to miss position the blind slat. The tool could be improved if there was a slat guide on each side so the blind is always postioned in line with the cutting tool. Excellent little tool overall.

Can only cut slats minimum 20mm each side

Have to mark with ruler and pencil anything less, and manually place on line to cut!!

              Really time consuming!!

Would be better if could cut in 5mm increments!!

Worked well for me 8 blinds to trim.

But soul destroying as cutter will only cut 20mm each side using guide.

I needed 10 mm of each end to keep blinds even.

I had to mark each slat with ruler and pencil then cut.

Would be better design if allowed to cut to min 5mm each end

                    • Accurate Neat Cuts

Bought this to trim a 180cm blind down to 172cm. Measure, set the cut length on the slat cutter and then just trim the edges off similar to using a toenail clipper. This tool costs very little, so it's hardly likely to be brilliantly made or to be manufactured of precision engineered steel, but it did a fabulous job and I now have perfectly fitted Venetian blinds at a fraction of the usual price for a custom job. I was delighted with it. I treated the tool with the tlc that a cheap item like this required and it served me very well. Thank you Dunelm.

The blades of the first one I bought were misaligned, so wouldn't cut at all. The replacement managed to cut 6 slats before breaking. An extremely poorly made product.
