Types of Glassware

Glassware comes in a wide range of styles, designs and purposes. Below are a few of the top selling types of glasses.

Wine Glasses
If like many of us you crave a large glass of wine on a Friday night to welcome in the weekend, then you will be more than aware of the importance of having strong yet stylish wine glasses. There is nothing quite as annoying as going to use a wine glass and noticing that there is a hairline crack along the top or washing them in the sink only to find that the sides have cracked. These sorts of incidents often occur with cheap and poorly made glasses. This is why it is important to choose a wine glass that will suit your needs. If your set of glasses get used on a regular occasion then you may need to opt for a sturdy thicker glass design that will be able to withstand a bit of wear and tear. However, if wine glasses are something that are only used on special occasions then perhaps a slightly cheaper version may suffice.

Tall Glasses
This type of glass is perhaps the most common design found in most households throughout the UK. The popularity of this glass is due to its multifunctional properties. Tall glasses are often used in family homes as juice glasses for children. They are the perfect size and design for many soft drinks such as fizzy pop, fresh juice or even just a glass of water. This style of glass is also the ideal shape for many alcoholic beverages such as a gin and tonic or rum and coke. It may sound strange but people often believe that the size and style of glass that you use can affect the overall taste of your drink. For example, would you enjoy a glass of wine in a plastic beaker as much as in a tall large wine glass? Probably not, this is why it is of vital importance to select a suitable drinking glass for your personal requirements.

Cocktail Glasses
A cocktail glass is a very specific size and shape, often with a tall long stem, much like a wine glass, but with a much broader and shallower basin. This type of glass is designed to look exceptionally elegant and full of class and style. These cocktail glasses are suitable for a number of cocktails such as a Margarita or Daiquiri. Why not hold your own girls night in cocktail party and have a go at making your very own versions of your favourite cocktails? Whether they taste as good as the originals or not, they will look just as professional as the real thing!

Benefits of Glassware

It is always a good idea to have a wide selection of glassware in your kitchen. If guests arrive unexpectedly, you will want to have enough spare glasses to offer everyone a drink. There is also the benefit of not having to constantly keep washing the same glasses as soon as they have been used so these can wait until the dishwasher is full or you are washing up the day’s pots. The more you use your glassware products the more likely that they will break, by having a wide variety of glasses you will hopefully put less wear and tear on a limited number of glasses.

Glassware Care Instructions
