Dunelm is a people first business. Having spent many years in HR it's refreshing to work in a Company that recognises the importance and value of its people. HR has a vital role in this to ensure that everyone is treated fairly and valued for their differences.

The pace is fast and exciting here. It's my job to ensure my HR Department is a successful business partner based on our expertise about people. We need to deliver effective solutions and give clear and accurate advise to our customers - the teams in the store and in our retail support functions.

No two days are ever the same.  Working within HR at Dunelm is never boring and that's what I love about the business. We deal with a variety of areas which cover all aspects of our people strategy including recruitment, Training and Development, employee relations and specific project work.

People feel valued here. That's why our teams can talk confidently about their work and learn from both successes and mistakes.

Teamwork is the key to success. I'm passionate about teamwork. Our culture encourages everyone to learn and develop new skills. My department works closely with other head office departments and the stores to ensure we are all working towards common business goals. My 3 HR Managers are field based and spend 90% of their time out in the stores where they can add real value.

My life outside of work? I have two young children who keep me very busy when i'm not at work. Both are very competitive swimmers and my son is a black blet in Taekwondo. You will usually find me cheering them on in some competition or another!

What makes me feel at home? Simple, spending time with my family and friends.
